“The Word of the Lord: Seeing Jesus in the Prophets”

by Nancy Guthrie

“We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth.” (John 1:45)

In the Old Testament, God spoke to his people through prophets—men specially called to speak God’s Word to his people. The New Testament makes it clear that such prophets, whether chastising or comforting, testified to Israel’s final redemption and ultimate hope: Jesus the Messiah.

Over ten weeks of guided personal Bible study, relevant teaching, and group discussion, Bible teacher Nancy Guthrie will help you see the person and work of Christ in:

· Hosea's willingness to redeem his unfaithful bride from slavery

· Isaiah's divine King and suffering Servant, who will be punished for his people

· Daniel's stone, not hewn by human hands, that will crush every human kingdom

· Ezekiel’s vision of a city where we will enjoy Jesus’s presence forever

Gain a fresh perspective on the message of the Old Testament prophets, a broader understanding of Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture, and much more when you join Nancy on this incredible journey to see Jesus in the Old Testament!

Women’s Evening Bible Study

Meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 PM.

The Titus 2 Model for Mentoring Women”

by Susan Hunt

For many churches, women's ministries, and women's Bible study groups, the missing element of discipleship is the interpersonal aspect. Titus 2:3–5 clarifies what mature spiritual relationships between generations of women should look like. Susan Hunt unveils how to put that model into action with stories of biblical and contemporary women who have responded to God's call, as well as page after page of personal encouragement, practical insight, and ministry–tested how–to's.

Through this wisdom–packed book, churches, groups, and individuals will be equipped to reach across generational lines and inspired to experience the blessing of nurturing, godly relationships so that every Christian woman may flourish in her faith.

“Be Still My Soul”

Embracing God's Purpose and Provision in Suffering

by Nancy Guthrie

Since the beginning of humanity, the question of suffering-why it happens and how God works in it-has existed. What are you doing, God? Why is this happening? Where are you? These questions fill our thoughts when we experience deep pain and tragedy. Having lost two young children who suffered from a rare and incurable disease, editor Nancy Guthrie has put together this helpful collection of short readings exploring the question of suffering.

This anthology includes essays from both classic and contemporary theologians, Bible teachers, and missionaries such as John Calvin, Charles Spurgeon, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, John Piper, Corrie ten Boom, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Helen Roseveare. Each entry expounds on a Bible verse, leading readers to see and be comforted by God's perspective, purpose, and provision in suffering.
